Ardebil
One of the most significant of the historical rugs is the famous Ardebil rug also called "Holy Carpet" from the 16th century exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum of London. When during the first and second world war the Caucasian rug production declined significantly they began to preserve this rug culture by reproducing these beautiful Caucasian designs in Ardebil. Usually the pile has a middle length and the rugs turn out fine in density. The Ardebil rugs of today stick out through very clear designs and exact weaving/knotting.
