Beshir
Beshir is a Turkmenian tribe which actually consists of Turkmenian tribes of different origins (e.g. the Salores). They mixed with the group of tribes called the "Ersari" in the 18th and 19th century. Today there are still descendants of the Beshir living in North Afghanistan. Beshir rugs have their origin in and around the city of Bashyr at the Amu-Darja river south of Bukhara. The Beshir rug belongs to the group of Turkmen rugs. Real old Beshir rugs are rarely found today.
