Borchalou
Borchalou is located in West Iran. Actually Borchalou is in the district of Arak (former Sultanabad) but is considered being part of the relatively large group of Hamadan provenances. The center of the region is Komijan, whereas Kombazan is particularly active in the rug production. Its relatively dense and high pile and its often light, rich and floral design are charakteristic for Borchalou carpets. They are mostly traded in Hamadan, therefore probably the assignment towards Hamadan. The pile mostly consists of outstanding fine Hamadan wool. Altogether one can say that Borchalou rugs are very appealing, and with its floral beauties lively Persian rugs of high quality.
