Genje
Genje is a city with many names. It used to be called Elisabethpol and Kirovabad (as part of the USSR). Genje is located in Southern Caucasia between Tiflis and Baku, inhabited by Armenians and Tartars. The typical design is sort of a mixture between Kazak and Karabagh. Genje often have an original pattern and irregularities in the designs, which to many makes the attractiveness and the charm of these rugs. Altogether a valuable Caucasian rug with original unusual designs.
