Kashmar

Kashmar is located in East Iran and is the capital of Khorassan. Between the 12th and 14th century Kashmar was a significant and rich city. Small pattern Herati (Mahi) designs are characteristic for Kashmar rugs as well as floral and pictorial motifs. The wool used is of high quality and usually relatively soft. In comparison to other rug productions from Khorassan, Kashmars are very fine rugs.
