Lori
The "Lori" are an Indo-Iranian nomadic people from the mountain region of South West Persia. They are related to the tribe of the Bakhtiari. Lori rugs are mostly of geometrical nature, mainly held in reds and blues. The weaving is almost entirely done on horizontal looms in homework (recently also in studios). There are no Lori silk rugs, only wool pile on cotton foundation is used, whereas older pieces could be made on wool foundation. The Turkish knot is being used as opposed to the Persian Senneh knot. Altogether you can say about Lori rugs that they are very authentic, real Nomadic rugs.
