Sanandaj

Sanandaj (formerly known as Senneh) is the capital of the West Iranian province of Kurdestan (170 km east of Hamadan). Sanandaj rugs are known for their fineness and high quality. The wool is usually outstanding as also in this rug. The Senneh knot - along with the Turkish knot - is the main knotting system in Oriental carpet weaving.
