Sherkate Farsh
"Sherkat" is the shorter term for "Sherkate Sahamie Farshe Iran", which means "Stock Corporation of Persian Carpets". This corporation is half state owned and has been founded in order to secure a constant rug production of higher quality. Sherkate Farsh maintains numerous manufactories in Iran and primarily controls the quality of the wool, the thoroughness of production (e.g. avoiding crooked rugs) and the purity of the designs, i.e. keeping certain traditions of design up whereby Nomadic designs are almost not used at all. Often it is easily recognizable whether a certain rug is a Sherkat production or not. But it is much more difficult to determine where in Iran a Sherkat rug has been made since the manufactory is not bound to the traditions of the region. "Sherkat" is a guarantee for quality and beauty, a reliable pillar in the multifaceted world of rugs.
