Kelardasht
Kelardasht is located in North West Iran at the Kelar mountain. Beautiful and very durable carpets are being made in a number of villages in that area. The curiousity about this provenance is that the looms are hanging outside at the house walls. The weavers (mostly female) almost hit the fore-roof with their heads at the end of making the carpet. The Hexagon is used as the main ornament of these rugs. The outer field is livened up by geometric motifs as well as stylized animals. You can find Sassanid gold and silver art in the Archeological Museum of Teheran.
